Detailed 8 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National park and nature walk.
After a briefing by your guide, begin your 5 hours’ drive to Kibale Forest national park. Along the way, in Mubende, you may visit the Nakayima Cultural Site. Here there is a lot of traditional information on the genesis of Buganda Kingdom and the miraculous tree.
Enjoy a hot lunch in Fort Portal before checking in at the lodge for your overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Lodge (luxury), Chimpanzee guest house(Budget)/Turaco Tree Tops(deluxe)/ Crater Safari Lodge (deluxe) / Papaya Lake lodge(Luxury).
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to QENP.
At 7:00 am transfer to Kanyanchu Information Centre for briefing and at 8:00 am tracking of chimps begins.
However you may do other activities such as nature walk in Bigodi Birding Sanctuary and chimpanzee tracking in the afternoon at 2:00 pm.
Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is simply a 2 hours’ drive through Kasese Municipality. Dinner and overnight at Katara game Lodge (luxury)/Enganzi Lodge/ Park View lodge (deluxe).
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
In the morning, you will set off to the Kasenyi area for wildlife viewing anticipating to see a variety of species.
In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for more wildlife viewing opportunities. Overnight at day 2
Day 4: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi national park.
At 9:00 am transfer to Bwindi Forest via Ishasha sector where you will have game drive in search for tree climbing lions. Later undertake a 2 hours’ drive to Buhoma – Bwindi NP for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs. In case gorilla permits are only available in Ruhija sector then accommodation will secured at Bakiga Lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla tracking and community visit.
Early morning, with packed lunch, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on the gorilla tracking adventure. In the evening, you will go for a community visit to the neighboring community. Overnight at day 4
Day 6: Transfer to L. Bunyonyi and boat cruise
On this day transfer to L. Bunyonyi and upon arrival take a boat cruise to explore the islands on this magnificent lake. Take with you a picnic lunch at one of the islands and later check in at your hotel. Overnight and dinner at Bunyonyi Rock resort (luxury)/ Bunyonyi Eco resort (deluxe)
Day 7: Transfer to L. Mburo NP and game drive.
After breakfast transfer to L. Mburo NP. Upon arrival take a game drive for wildlife viewing opportunities. Overnight stay at Mihingo lodge (luxury)/ Rwakobo Rock lodge (deluxe)/ Mpogo lodge (budget)
Day 8: Nature walk and transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe
In the morning, you will go for a nature walk to the salt lick for more wildlife viewing. You will then be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe for drop off at your hotel or airport.
