10 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI ADVENTURE

Trip Overview

Day 1: Meet & Greet at the Airport. Transfer to a hotel for check in. Go for a Kampala City Tour.
Day 2: Transfer to Semuliki National Park. Go for a spot-lit night game drive.
Day 3: Sempaya Hotsprings. Boat trip on Lake Albert. Optional Nature Walk and birding in the evening.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Visit the Kasenda Crater Lakes. Take a nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest. Leave fpr Queen Elizabeth National Park. Evening game drive and a visit to the local salt mines at Katwe.
Day 6: Game Viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Take a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport.
Arrival at the airport, Entebbe. Welcome to Uganda. You be met by our tour agent who will transfer you to Kampala. You will check in at Serena Hotel/ Golf Course apartments/ Holiday Express. You may go a city tour not so tired and see the like of Parliament building, State House, Independence monument, King's palace, Garden City, Nakasero market, Makerere University, Kasubi tombs among others.

Day 2: Transfer to Semuliki national park.
Set off early for Semuliki national park in the west (7 hrs) via Mubende- fort portal route. Check in at Semuliki safari lodge/ Rwenzori view guest house. Go for spot-lit night game drive the only one of its kind of all the parks in Uganda. Check out large serval cats, tiny gent, slender and tailed mangoose among other predators. Return to lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Sempaya hot springs.
After having a light breakfast, proceed to an evocative sight of the Sempaya hot springs which shoot up from an 8m wide hole. They are unique because they have hot water hot enough to boil an egg. The red tailed monkey, grey checked mangabey can be seen as well as interesting birds like Frasier's ant-thrush, forest hornbills, and honey guide greenbul that can be seen along the trail. Go for a boat trip after lunch on Lake Albert north of the park and spot the water bird wildlife or if you are an addicted birder go for the Kirumia river trail from Kirumia to Semuliki River. Here the “Semuliki specials” birds can be spotted among them are spot-breasted ibis, Nkulengu rail, yellow-throated cuckoo, Hartlub's duck, and Grant's bluebill. Return to lodge afterwards.

Day4: Transfer to Kibale national park
Wake up, freshen up and Transfer to Kibale national park (3hrs) via fort portal- kamwenge road. On your way check out the Kasenda crater lakes. After having your lunch rest and in the evening go to Bigodi wetland sanctuary and the Magombe swamp, famous to birders with over 40 species of birds. Some notable birds include green bulls, blue Turaco, yellow bill, swamp flycatcher. Reside at Ndali Lodge/ Primates Lodge/ Crater Valley Resort.

Day 5: Chimp trekking in Kibale
Early morning after taking a cup of tea, you will proceed to Kanyanchu to track chimps and other primates within the forest. Compare and contract between the chimp's behavior and humans and discover a lot! Also check out the grey checked mangabey, L'Hoest monkey, red-tailed monkey and the vervet monkeys. In the afternoon, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is a 4 hr-ride. Go for a game drive in Mweya peninsula and discover for yourself Katwe town and its several saline crater lakes. Find out about salt mining in the small towns. There are also buffalos along the road. You will sleep in Mweya Safari Lodge/ Mweya Institute after a long day of activity.

Day6: Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning after freshening up you will head for the morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains which is such an exciting adventure. Here you may see the larger, darker and hairy forest giant hogs, leopards, warthogs, large herds of elephants, Defassa waterbuck, and bush baby. After having lunch proceed to a launch trip on the Kazinga channel. It's such a scenic cruise with sightings of the lakes Edward and George, Hippos, yawning crocodiles, several water birds like cormorants and flamingos among the rest. Sleep in Mweya Safari Lodge/ Mweya Institute after a long day of activity.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wake up early, take breakfast and head for chimp tracking in Kyambura gorge. See several primates also in the Maramagambo forest and you may as well visit the python cave. By evening drive to Bwindi national park via the Ishasha sector route. That is if the weather is okay. You will be amazed by the lions on the fig trees resting while waiting for prey. Also Uganda Kobs are spotted on your to Buhoma. Reside at gorilla resort/ volcanoes lodge/ Buhoma homestead/ Gorilla forest camp.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
You start the day by getting up early and preparing for gorilla trekking in the Bwindi forest. Quite a strenuous activity but with a rewarding experience especially for the physically fit. Check out the silver back. In the evening you may travel to the Batwa community or take a nature walk to Munyanja river trail. Return to lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala.
After your breakfast, prepare to leave Bwindi and the gorillas as you set off for Kampala. This marks the end of your tour. Stay overnight at Serena Hotel/ Golf Course Apartments/ Holiday Express.

Day 10: Depart from Uganda.
Drive to Entebbe airport and board plane to your next destination.
