Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwest Uganda is the country’s home for the endangered mountain gorillas together with Mgahinga gorilla national park. Bwindi protects almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population with over 20 habituated gorilla groups found within the park. Some of the habituated gorilla families in Bwindi include Rushegura, Bitukura, Busingye, Katwe, Oruzogo, Kyaguriro, Mukizo, among others. There four gorilla tracking sectors in Bwindi which include Nkuringo, Ruhija, Rushaga and Buhoma. Each habituated gorilla group is visited once a day by a group of 8 trekkers. Visitors are permitted to spend one hour in the presence of gorillas as one of the measures aimed at promoting their conservation. A gorilla permit which allows you to trek gorillas in Bwindi is sold at $700 per peron to foreign non residents, $600 to foreign residents and Shs250,000 to East African Community citizens. Murchison Falls National Park 

Murchison Falls national park is located in northwest Uganda and it is the largest protected area in the country. The park is named after the breathtaking Murchison Falls which were formed by River Nile that runs through the park. The falls are one of the major attractions of the park offering magnificent views both from the top and at the bottom from the boat. In addition to the falls, Murchison falls national park offers amazing wildlife experiences to visitors including game viewing, primate tracking, bird watching, boat cruise and nature walks. Queen Elizabeth National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park
