Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
In the morning you will drive to Queen's via Kampala- Mubende- Fort Portal route. (7hr- ride) Stop and take a look at the equator at Kikorongo and take some photos. You can have lunch in Fort Portal then continue to Mweya. On reaching, check in at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Jacana Safari Lodge/ Mweya Institute. You can go for a game drive to the Mweya peninsula; it has spectacular views of the glacial peaks of the Rwenzori. Visit Katwe and check out several saline crater lakes and learn about salt mining. You easily see herds of buffalo on the roads as you drive. Also spotted hyenas can be spotted as well as birds like marabou stork and Hamerkop on trees around the lodge. Retire back to your lodge.

Day 2: Game drives - Boat trip on kazinga Channel
Early morning, be treated to a hearty breakfast then head for an early game drive to the Kasenyi plains. As you drive slowly, you will see elephants, warthogs and Defassa waterbuck crossing the tracks. Leopards can be sighted along their own tracks while the darker, larger and hairy giant forest hogs are much regular. Return to lodge for lunch and refresh yourself to an afternoon launch trip along the Kazinga channel, the most popular trip in the park. Keep an eye open for water lizard, crocodiles, hippos and water birds which are in plenty. Water thickknee, yellow-billed stork, black- headed Gonolek may be in the vicinity. It's a good sight to watch thirsty animals. Return to lodge and relax.

Day 3: Chimp trekking
You will wake much earlier to prepare for a trek to meet our closest relatives in the primate family, chimpanzee. After taking something, you will head to Kyambura gorge where they reside. Spend an hour with them and return to lodge for lunch. Transfer to lake Mburo national park. Dinner and overnight in Mbarara, or Arcadia cottages.

Day 4: Game drive
After taking something light in the morning, head for either a game drive or take a walk to the salt lick where different animals can be spotted licking salt from a certain view without their knowing. The most important animal to see is the “impala” as Lake Mburo is the only reserve in the country that supports a big population of these handsome antelopes. Also zebras, warthogs, oribi, topi, eland, Roan antelope, sitatunga, bush pig, hippos can be sighted plus 3 different types of otters. Leave the park and return to Kampala by evening.
