This is a 3 days Safari to Uganda's largest Park. The park was named after the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the world's longest river the Nile explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. It is 4-6 hours drive from Kampala. This safari will give the opportunity to participate in activities like game viewing, boat ride, primate trekking, sport fishing and bird watching among others. The safari starts and ends in Kampala. Accommodation is on luxurious, mid-range and budget establishments.

Trip Overview

Below is a summarized trip itinerary for the 3 Days Wildlife Safari to Murchison Falls National Park;

Day 1: Leave Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park. Enroute Lunch at Masindi. Visit the Top of the Falls.
Day 2: Game Viewing in Murchison Falls National Park. Take a boat trip along the Nile.
Day 3: Sport Fishing (Optional). Return to Kampala.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
Set off from Kampala at 0800hrs, drive through the famous Luwero triangle, taking a stop over at Masindi hotel for lunch. Continue driving through the park stoppingat the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here River Nile, the longest in the world, is forced through a narrow gorge in the rock only 7 meters wide, before ferociously plunging down 43 meters to the rocks below. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile Safari Camp / Red chill Camp.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National park
Early morning at sunrise, we make our way into the world famous MFNP for a half day game drive in search for the wildlife wonders Africa offers her visitors in this unspoiled land where big game still roam freely. We might even spot some of the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, and Leopard. Other animals include; Rothschild's Giraffe, Hyena, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, and chimpanzees among others.

After lunch, proceed for a boat trip to the bottom of the Falls along river Nile. The Nile itself hosts one of Africa's densest hippos and crocodile populations, and a dazzling variety of water birds such as the African Fish Eagle, African Skimmer and the rare shoebill stork which can easily be seen at the banks of the river. Other bird species that can be seen include Silver Bird, Grey-crowned Crane, Goliath Heron, Black-headed Gonolek, Green-winged, Long-toed Plover, Saddle-billed Stork, Spotted and Verreaux's Owls. Dinner and over night in Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile Safari Lodge / Red Chill Camp

Day 3: Sport Fishing in MFNP, Return to Kampala
After break fast, go for sport fishing on the mighty Nile, and latter, start a picnic drive back to Kampala, having lunch enroute.
