If you’re coming to Uganda to see wildlife, especially birds, then you want your guide to be exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled at seeing the subtlest signs of animals and hearing things long before anything comes into view. William can spot things that don’t seem humanly possible and has the magical ability to talk to you, listen to other conversations going on, and then also hear and identify bird calls out in the distant sky. He really pays attention to what interests you and then goes out of his way to point those things out to you. If he comes to a sudden stop and jumps out of the jeep, you better follow with your binoculars ready … he’s about to point out something really cool!

Excellent Company to Work With for Travel in Rwanda and Uganda
Gorilla Trek Africa was great to work with. I had Guide William “K” for my 10 day trip to both Rwanda and Uganda to see the Gorillas, Chimps, Rhinos, Golden Monkeys, Hiking and safari drives. William K was the best Guide I’ve had in my 20+ years of travelling. He can tell you whatever you want to know about every bird, animal, plant, country history, etc. I felt 100% comfortable being a single gal traveling. The lodges and hotels they chose were excellent and the food was always delicious. The company came through on every promise they made and more! I have just returned from a fabulous 12 day trip to Rwanda and Uganda organized by Gorilla Trek Africa. Nelson is very professional and responded to my numerous queries and itinerary adjustments promptly. He was very clear about the much higher costs associated with gorilla trekking in Rwanda vs Uganda, although I chose to do both anyway. He is extremely knowledgeable about all of the fauna and flora we encountered during the trip, with birds being his particular specialty.
Nelson provided excellent information on all of the places we visited. He went out of his way to ensure that my trip was a truly memorable experience. We met several other guides from the same company along the way and all demonstrated the same level of professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring their clients had a wonderful holiday. The vehicle we travelled in was well maintained and ideally suited for the terrain. We had 1 minor mechanical issue (not surprising given the state of some of the roads, particularly in the mountains) which was dealt with expediently and without any drama. All of the accommodation that was booked (I chose mid-range) has been specifically selected based on the high standard of the facilities, service and food provided. I would not hesitate to recommend Gorilla Trek Africa and look forward to booking my next trip to Rwanda and Uganda with them in the near future.
