This tour is an opportunity for those interested in knowing much about the Low land gorillas; a sub species of the Eastern gorilla that dwells in the low land forests of Congo with Gorilla Trek Africa. It is the largest of the 4 gorilla species and is endemic to the tropical rain forests of Eastern Congo.
It is distinguished from other gorillas by its stocky body, large hands and short muzzle and feeds mainly on fruits and plants. The population of these creatures has reduced significantly over the years due to habitat loss and poaching brought about by the constant civil unrests in this volatile Congo region. The 3 days lowland gorilla trekking will begin and end from Kigali (Rwanda) but in case you are in Goma (Congo), the tour can also be possible.
