The 2 days Tarangire Safari is ideal for tourists on a limited budget and time. Tarangire national park boasts of the Big Five and a plethora of birds. With beautiful terrain punctuated with Baobab trees, big herds of bush elephants, fascinating prides of lions, hippos, and leopards Tarangire national park occupies a prime position among the greatest conserved areas in Africa. Other mammals in the park include hyenas, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and different antelope species. The park is also an Important Bird Area.
Over 250 lions and 2500 elephants are recorded in Tarangire national park. The best time to visit this park is June to October. This is a dry season that only spares Tarangire River as other water sources are dry. Thus, the river acts as a magnet to all animals and birds in the surrounding vicinities to converge at the banks of this river. This makes game viewing in this period very fascinating.
Day 1: On arrival at Arusha Airport a representative from Gorilla Trek Africa will be ready with a placard bearing your names. After a short briefing he / she with transfer you to Tarangire national park. This drive on a tarmac road will take 3 to 4 hours up to the park gate. Overnight stay at Tarangire Sopa Lodge or any other lodge of your choice on Full Board Basis.
Day 2: After breakfast transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the day’s activities and begin the game drive deep into the park expecting to see prides of lions, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, big herds of elephants, buffaloes, hartebeests, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, etc.
Later in the evening transfer back to Arusha Airport for your schedules flight to the next destination.
