4 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Tour

This is a 4 Days trip to the Queen Elizabeth National Park , a wide bio-diversity of habitats that contains the most astonishing number of species – almost 100 types of mammal and 606 different birds! The Kazinga Channel alone contains the world’s largest concentration of hippos! Other wildlife includes warthogs, buffalo, rare aquatic sitatunga antelope, giant forest hog, beautifully horned Uganda kob, topi, waterbuck, elephant and leopard. Don’t miss this adventure packed holiday that includes not only game viewing but also chimpanzee tracking, a launch cruise through the Kazinga Channel, sightseeing and a hunt for the tree climbing lions of Ishasha!

Trip Summary

Day 1: Leave Kampala for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Make a stopover at the Omugabe’s Palace. Evening Nature Walk to the Bat Cave & the Blue Lake in Maramagambo Forest

Day 2: Transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking. In the afternoon take a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel.

Day 3: Visit the local salt mines. Return to Kampala.

Day 4: Take an excursion to Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early morning breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park making a stopover at the old palace of the Omugabe of Ankole in Mbarara. This gives a good view of Lake View Hotel for your lunch overlooking the mystical Omugabe Lake – this used to be the swimming pool for the Kings of Ankole. Later proceed via Bunyaruguru Crater Lake region and at Jacana Safari lodge for an evening forest walk to the Bat Cave and the Blue Lake in the Maramagambo Forest. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya/Jacana Safari Lodge

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth NP wildlife safari
Wake up for your breakfast and transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimp tracking. A wonderful experience as you slope down the steep escarpment is overwhelming given the wild nature of the deep gorge and the roaring Chambura River. Chimpanzee trekking experience in this forest is highly exciting! The various monkey species that keep on crisscrossing will leave you wondering. Return to the lodge for relaxation in the swimming pool as you enjoy some beers. In the afternoon don’t miss a launch cruise along Kazinga Channel for this is the highlight of a Uganda safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at Jacana Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Katwe Salt Mine
After breakfast take a transfer to Katwe to observe the traditional extraction of salt. Return to Kampala and stay at Speke Hotel/Tourist Hotel for your dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngamba Island Excursion
Take early morning breakfast and transfer to Entebbe for an excursion to Ngamba Chimp Island. Enjoy a day watching the chimps feeding and playing in a semi-natural environment. The experience at the island is highly exciting. Return in the evening to Kampala as you prepare for your flight back to your home country.
