Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala-Kibale forest; home of Chimps
Very early in the morning drive off to Kibale National park via Mubende. The drive will take you through beautiful tea plantations and local homesteads, lunch in fort portal town amidst the great mountains of the moon. Take an afternoon visit to the traditional culture site called; Amabeere ga nyina mwiru, enjoy the scenic beauty of the place and background stories, dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Guest House, Primates Lodge, Ndali Lodge. (Full Board)

Day 2: Chimp Trekking and Nature walk
Early breakfast is followed by entering the forest for chimpanzee trekking alongside other primates such as Grey Cheeked mangabeys, vervets, red-tailed, black and white colobus monkeys among others. Also expect an encounter with 350 bird species. Lunch at Chimp Nest Restaurant and embark on afternoon nature walk to Bigodi Swamps for another wonderful experience of the wild. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Drive to Bwindi through Ishasha Sector
Have breakfast to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park, a home to 360 mountain gorillas. The journey goes through the Ishasha sector famous for Tree-Climbing lions. Take a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the Batwa Pygmies. Dinner and overnight Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Full Board)

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today you have a chance to penetrate the impenetrable Bwindi Forest in search for these humble Giant Apes. The activity takes 2-8 hrs and goes through steep rocks, climbing up and down making it tiresome before finding gorillas camouflaged in dense green vegetation. However, the thrill of encountering these giant Apes erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort, Buhoma community rest camp.

Day 5: Departure
Have early breakfast and start a picnic drive back to Kampala through the rolling hills of Kigezi; popularly known as 'the Switzerland of Africa'.
