Trip Overview

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (5-7 Hours)
Day 2: Morning game Drive & Afternoon Boatrde along the Kazinga Channel
Day 3: Game Drive through Ishasha Sector as ypu journey to Bwindi Forest
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Day 5: Cross to Rwanda (7-9 Hours)
Day 6: Optional Gorilla Tracking in PNV / Golden Monkey Tracking / Hike to Dian Fossey Grave. Transfer to Lake Kivu after lunch
Day 7: Cross the border to Congo. Hike the Nyiragongo Volcano.
Day 8: Descend to Goma
Day 9: Kigali City Tour

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Wildlife park (5-7hrs)
The driver / Guide shall pick you from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Park, enroute stop at the Equator for photographs, lunch in Mbarara. Take an evening game drive, dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge (Lux) or Hippo Hill Tented Camp (Deluxe) or Simba safari camp (Budget).

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise
Morning game drive in search for African Lion, herds of Buffaloes, Elephants, Antelopes and many more, retire for lunch and embark on afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, famous for the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa. Expect an encounter with huge Nile crocodiles and 611 bird species. Overnight at your lodge on Day 1

Day 3: Ishasha game drive, transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Park (4-6hrs)
Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Park with enroute game drive through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree climbing lions, afternoon cultural walk to Batwa people/pygmies, dinner and overnight at Siverback lodge (Lux), Engagi Lodge (Deluxe), Buhoma Community rest camp (Budget).

Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla trekking, transfer to lake Bunyonyi
Gorilla Trekking adventure in Bwindi forest, afternoon transfer to the lava dammed lake of wonders; lake Bunyonyo, dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages or Bunyonyi Island resort.

Day 5: Cross to Rwanda (7-9hrs)
Cross Uganda – Rwanda Boarder to Ruhengeri, relax in the evening as you wait for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Lux) / Saint Anne Hotel (Mid class) / Kinigi Guest house (Budget).

Day 6: Several Tour Options
We can go for second gorilla trekking (Subject to availability of permits and prior booking), or go for golden monkey trekking, or hike to Diana Fossey site, nestled between the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Or you can relax at your lodge till lunch time.

After lunch, transfer to lake Kivu, relax on the shores / beach, or take a boat cruise to coffee Island, dinner and overnight at Kivu Serena Hotel, / Hotel paradise Marahide.
Day 7: Cross the boarder to DR Congo
Morning transfer to Goma town in DR Congo. We can also proceed to the wonderful Nyiragongo Volcanic Mountains. Hiking to the top takes 5-7hours of great adventure. Camping for overnight at the summit of Nyiragongo Mountain.

Day 8: Descend to Goma
Morning transfer back to the main land (3 hours of great adventure), then transfer drive back to Kigali for dinner and overnight at Serena hotel Kigali (lux) / Hotels gorillas (MR) / Umubano Hotel (Basic)

Day 9: Kigali city tour – Departure
Visit Kigali genocide memorial sites like Gisozi, Nyamata and Ntarama, and depending on your departure flight, you will be transferred to Kigali airport.
